In the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC), Sepilok Sandakan, Sabah Borneo Birds Festivals are held. There was held a variety of activities including a photography contest, the Race Birds Borneo, daily Birding tour guide, activities for children and much more.

Tempurung Cave in Perak


You will be awed by five gigantic domes with ceilings resembling tempurung (coconut shells) forming the cave, and giving its name Gua Tempurung.   The cave system stretches about 1.5km, and is believed to have sheltered prehistoric communities since 8000 BC.

Crawl, scrabble and even lower yourself into impossible looking crevices as you go deep down to uncover the secrets of the largest limestone cave in Peninsula Malaysia.

An underwater river called Sungai Gua Tempurung runs about 1.6 km through the cave which you can indulge in some spelunking activities. An absolute delightful excursion for the adventurous and those who don’t mind getting their hands dirty as they embark on the thrill of caving.

Penang National Park




It is the smallest national park in the country with a size of 2,562 hectares. It was gazetted in 2003 and is home to 46 species of birds such as the stork-billed kingfishers, white-breasted waterhens and great egrets.

A 2000 expedition led by the Malaysian Nature Society recorded 417 flora and 143 fauna species. Before the area was designated as a national park, the locals knew it as Pantai Acheh Forest Reserve. Some of the activities carried out are fishing, swimming and hiking.

The pure, sandy stretch of Pantai Kerachut is also a favourite nesting place of Green turtles from April to August, and the Olive Ridley from September to February. The turtle hatchery set up in Pantai Kerachut in 1995 is now managed by the State Fisheries Department along with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) and the Forestry Department. They also manage the upkeep of the park, which is in pristine conditions.

Homestay promotion in Malaysia to go mobile

The promotion of homestay in Malaysia is going mobile with the launch of iPhone and Blackberry applications.
The smartphone applications, developed by MoAd Technologies, will incorporate global positioning system (GPS) enabled Google maps, photo galleries and even phrase book features.
Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen will launch the digital marketing application on Sept 29, at an event jointly held with Maxis Communications.
MoAd Technologies said in a statement yesterday the multimedia applications would boost marketing efforts, and allow tourists easier access to information during their stay in the country.

Malaysia MotoGP - Buy ticket now


If you MotoGP fans, do not miss to watch World Motorcycle Grand Prix 2010 at 8 to 10 October 2010 in Sepang. MotoGP race from the racers entered like Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo and more await you there.

Event In August

In August, there were some interesting events for tourists from within and outside the country can join. Among them are:

1.  Malaysia KL Family Fair.
  • This event may be accompanied by Malaysians and tourists. It provides a host of activities suitable family.
  • Held from June 19, 2010 until December 19, 2010 Malaysia Tourism Centre is located.

Tinggi Island


Pulau Tinggi or Tinggi Island located 45 minutes from Mersing jetty is vague from the beautiful tropical island and sheltered from the east coast of Johor.

Around the island, it has a white, white beach surrounded by blue water is gorgeous.

If you come to Kota Tinggi, do not forget to go to Tanjung Balau. Tanjung Balau located 70km from Kota Tinggi. This is very interesting place to visit with family and friends while relax your mind, bathing and surfing.
